TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUPERMARATHON1. GENERAL RULES
1.1 The protection of the route of the race is supported by the police and the organizers. The race does not lead on closed route, thus the participants have to proceed with full attention, carefully and with respect to the traffic regulations! Special attention has to be paid to the most critical section of the race, where the route crosses the main roads and streets. The police vehicle leading the race goes for the first runner of the field, and can not be passed by any runner, cyclist or roller-skater, because in this case the participant withdraws imself from the protection of the police and the organizers. The protection of the race applies to the section behind the leading police vehicle.
1.2 During the race, runners can only use the right side of the road (as to direction).
1.4 The Organizing Committee issues distinctive signs for the accompanying cars during the accreditation which has to be placed visibly on the back and front window of the car (rigth-upper corner). Only the placement of this sign on the vehicle entitles them to accompany the runners as set in the rules. The accompaniers going by bicycles have to wear the sign visibly on their back.
1.6 The help of the race board’s members and of doctors and masseurs accredited for the race is available during the whole time of the race 1.7 The Org. Comm. introduces ChampionChip as official timekeeping of the Supermarathon. The occurant „stand-by” times at the barriers f.e. will be kept manually. Athe chip must be placed on the shoes max. 20 cm high above the ground to get clear signal. There is no deposit fee for the disposable chip, competitors do not need to return it. Attention! Dangerous refuse!
1.8 The race jury fixes time limits for each day and each section. (Any problem emerging from using the team’s own vehicle is not respected by the jury.) 1.9 Runners who give up the race on the way are obliged to take off their start number and announce the fact of giving up to the nearest race controller. 1.10 The runner who shows unpreparedness during the race can be disqualified by the president of the race jury. The runners have immediately to back out of the race if they get a warning from the official doctor of the race to do so. 1.11 On the first day, there are 500-800m long dirt roads. Inline skaters should give much attendance on these sections.2. SPECIAL RULES OF THE RELAY COMPETITION
2.1 Mixed teams (consisting of men and women) are allowed to start, their results are considered in the men’s category.
2.2 The reserves named by the teams are obliged to enter the race on one of the first four days. During a daily distance, the reserve runner can only start only in case of a traffic accident with the approval of the jury. If an athlete brakes the rules of the traffic regulation (f.e. runs on the left side of the road) and suffers an injury through an accident, the reserve runner won’t get the approval of the jury, so the team has to finish the race on that day. In case of an accident, jury permits time bonus following the undermentioned rules:
2.4 On the 5th day of the race each runner (even the reserves of the relay teams) can toe the line. The added times of the four best runners are included in the result of the team. 3. OTHER RULES
3.1 During the whole competitions, the jury takes the decision in questions relating to the rules of the race. All these decisions will be published in the next day’s result lists. 3.3 An order of start-succession will be decided by the Organizing Committee for every day. In Vienna, the winners of the last year’s Supermarathon (individual and relays) and the austrian competitors (in Bratislava: the slovaikan athletes) will start from the first two lines, and in the next days always the firsts of the previous day’s racers. At the daily starts, the wheelchair participants starts 30 seconds before the runners. Cyclists, roller-skaters and the runners assistants on bike start behind the runners. On the last day, cyclists and inline skaters can go behind the runners, and it is not allowed for them to overtake or accompany the runners. 3.4 During the competition, doping controls can be carried through on the runners by specialists authorized by the Organizing Committee. 3.5 Those breaking the rules can be punished by the following punishments (next site) 3.6 After dark, runners and their assistants on bike being within limit time on the route have to wear a light. (On demand, the organizers provide red flash.) 3.7 Every protest will be checked and judged by the jury. Protest reported by athletes must be proved doubtless. 3.8 In questions which are not discussed in these rules, are the rules of the Hungarian Athletic Association and of the IAAf to follow.
